Well what can I say? it has a V8 361 engine, 4-door Sedan and It's a
loevely car, 90% saved as original. The shape is what we say in Sweden
"better used" the seats and inner roof has been remade but the engine,
gearbox, paint and stuff are as they where in 1960. It have some
"fender-bender-marks" but the chrome parts are nearly perfect. I use
the car every day all spring and summer but it will rest the long snowy
swedish winter in a barn. I bought the car from a swedish
collector Tony Moritz who is a well known "Chrysler-guru" here in
Sweden. On his farm i got to see some of his cars. One Polara cabriolet
painted in a nice gold metallic paint. The shape of that car is even
better then it was as new. It had twin carborators, and the engine
shine in goldplated items along with chromed details. He olso have one
'60 Matador wagon and one '60 Polara 2 door HT, the garage was packed
with mopar-parts and even one Harley Davidson Shovelhead in a perfect
condition parked in a corner. (Tony don´t have the license to
drive a bike i Sweden but he sure knows how to build one).
-What will happen to my Matador? Well I probably do a engine renovate
this winter. I will also see if there are possible to build better
brakes, if not I will renovate the existing brakes. Radial tires maybe,
the diagonal one on the car is a bit scary on the highway :)
I will continue to use the car on a daily basis, and I have applied to
the Swedish WPC-club and might visit some meetings and see if someone
manage to rebuild their brakes in a safe way.
Exuse my very bad english!
Take care!
